You may already well know the Antec Skeleton “case”, which became very popular withints introduction few months ago. Skeleton literally is a skeleton around which you build your system, targeted at enthusiasts, who often change a lot of their hardware and need the services of a comfortable and easy to use stand on which to change motherboards, processors, video controllers and so on. Antec Skeleton provides options for comfortable position of hard drives, good cooling – besides the enormous fan right above the motherboard, which cols all components, Skeleton is meant to accommodate watercooling setup and has the corresponding places for the watercooling parts :) On the whole the product has high modularity, can dismantle ad one such solution is compulsory for every extreme clocker.
With the ever rising fame of Skeleton, Antec seems to have decided that a smaller version is feasible, which is compatible only with mATX motherboards. Having in mind that Skeleton is targeted at overclockers and enthusiasts – lets take a minute and reflect on the thought how many of them will use mATX motherboards? Well, it is true that recently mATX motherboards with decent overclock features (for example Lan Party Junior by DFI) emerged, but come on... which overclock maniac will opt for mATX board before ATX... Antec assuredus that it meant mainly for presentations and other such activities. We can only wish them good luck with the sales of this small chassis:)
It seems that the organization of Antec's expo stand went pretty fast and there was some time left to fool around. This play begot the Skeleton Proto II, which is the code name for something, which will never be manufactured – two Skeletons attached together. One half hold the system as usual, as it would look in a turned on one side regular Skeleton. On the other side there are two cables with two SSDs on them, held by cable ties. Someone would say that this is waste of space and would be damn right, but after all with what to fill this empty space? :)
The following Antec case was really something very special. It is a model, made in only one copy because it is airbrushed by the same person that paints the gas tanks of the bikes made by Orange County Choppers. If you look closer you will see that the picture has some “defects”. We were told, that when the designer of the case sent the pictures overlooked these defects and they were in the original files, the airbrush master just recreated them extremely skillfully :)
