Patriot, the famous American manufacturer of highly efficient memory modules and flash drives, had very good representation at CeBIT. The company showed a lot of products, some well known, some new and some even still in prototype stages. We speak of DDR2 and DDR3 modules for desktop and mobile computers, for mainstream and gamers/overclockers, highly efficient flash drives with MLC and SLC chips and flash cards for different mobile devices.

The coolest and most expensive products were demonstrated in working conditions in different ways. Their stand also gathered crowds with Guitar Hero competition and the prizes WERE Patriot themed products :) And since the also famous AlienWare use Patriot modules, Guitar Hero was running on a "extraterrestrial" notebook.

As we already mentioned Patriot has modules covering every market segment. While the accent is still on their high performance Viper & Bladded lines.

The dual channel DDR2 models go as high as 1200MHz, dual channel DDR3 kits to 2000MHz, but the triple channel Viper kits for Core i7 reach only 1600MHz. Also Patriot showed Vortex - active memory cooler sold separately and being tested to comply only with Patriot Viper, Bladded and Signature (the line of budget orientated Patriot models), and it is safe to say that since Bladded and Signature look just like any other ordinary module out there, Vortex will be compatible with any module.

SSD drives are nowadays a part of the product line of most memory manufacturers and Patriot are no exception. Their WARP line was released long ago, but the 256GB model is a new addition to it and is is sold for no more than two months now for about 700$. This is high performance model while Patriot Lite Series SSD 64GB is a rather cheap SSD model with totally different purpose - it is intended as an upgrade for ASUS EEE PC.

Specially for us, Patriot showed something very interesting, with which the company could win the hearts and minds of users in need of SSD devices. The company is making (it is in fact still in development) a drawer for its SSD devices, one made from extremely high quality alloy (the type used in the airplane industry). Its heat dispersing capability is unsurpassed, and the best thing is that once the Patriot had perfected the drawer it will be sold along with any SSD Patriot drive.

Patriot also showed a large selection of flash drives and flash cards. All Patriot USB flash drives bear the name Xporter. Xporter Plus, Xporter XT and Xporter Magnum are ultra performing modules with speeds up to 210x for the Magnum module and with memory capacity ranging from 2GB to 32GB. All Xporter models use SLC chips that are much faster than the MLC chips in mainstream modules. Of course the company also has budget models from the Signature line in case speed does nor concern you :)

We received a gift form Partiot in the form of a 2GB Xporter Plus flash drive full with Patriot presentations, of wich we were highly impressed (both materials and drive that is) :)
