Raptoxx RT-EBAD1200 Exxtreme 1200W PSU review

Page 5 - Conclusion

After we looked closely at the PSU and performed substantial array of tests, it's time to pass on the verdict.

Pros:

• Enough power to satisfy the needs of each and every extreme gamer or hardware enthusiast, even the ones having systems utilizing several video cards in SLI/Crossfire along with couple of multi core processors
• Extremely stable voltages
• Totally quiet even under continuous performance under load and in closed box with "hot" hardware even
• Fan continues to work after powering down the system until it's cooled enough, prolonging components life
• Well sleeved cables for improving the air flow in the case and keeping things tidy
• Modular cables, you can attach only the ones you need - equaling in less of a mess
• Plenty of cables for system with three videocards even, cable connectors are of high quality, also easy to plug/unplug
• Nice appearance in black
• German quality and warranty of 36 months

Cons:

• Expensive, but quite agreeable price compared to similar models from other brands
• Few excess cables amongst the non-modular ones
• Big and heavy - inappropriate choice for a midtower case (though rarely hardware requiring that type of PSU is stuffed in such case)

The high price of the PSU is still better than the prices of many other equivalent (as far as power is concerned) PSU's, its size, though big is common with PSU's of over 850W. Evaluating Raptoxx RT-EBAD1200 1200W was easy, a high result and award were well deserved. 9.5/10 are in order - although we do remove further 0.5 because of the excess (SATA and MOLEX) cables amongst the non-modular ones. If you are in need of lots of power at any price, Just pick one of the pop PSU models of Raptoxx. But should you are more "common" user with high class gaming PC, you'd better pick a PSU that provides half kilowatt less, it will feel better for your finances. After all Raptoxx has a wide range of PSU's in that segment too, all of them bearing the same unyielding quality.

Many thanks to Raptoxx for supplying us with this product.

We would also like to use this opportunity NOT THANK AT ALL to ComelSoft, that happen to import Raptoxx in Bulgaria. Indeed we want to NOT THANK THEM AT ALL for their rudeness and indifference to our inquiries about Raptoxx products at BAIT Expo 2008.
