Raptoxx Exxtreme 1200W is amongst the highest class of PSU's on the market, so its packaging is quite adequate as you can see:
The box designers really worked on it, is possesses stylish and aggressive appearance, definitely matching the PSU, while still heavily accenting on the feeling of volume. In other words - it is unlikely that you'll find other PSU in so big and well made box. The cardboard cover with vicious eye on it can be lifted in order to reveal the real beast contained inside, and then run to the closest cashier (on the wings of all those butterflies in yous stomach) on your way home to the awaiting multiprocessor, multi video card, power hungry monster of a computer of yours.
When talking about high-class, companies have the right attitude, they really pay attention to details. By all means this applies here undoubtedly. Once you see the shiny PSU (and it is shiny, almost mirror like) you begin to feel bad for leaving greasy fingerprints on it. And that is why a soft wiping cloth with the Raptoxx logo is included in the package :). The PSU is a big one (though most all PSU's over 750W are more like two in one case and take space close to 1.5 times more than ordinary ones). And it's very heavy too, because all of the parts inside it and the corresponding radiators aiding the heat dispersion.
Also as it's typical for a good PSU - cables are modular. Meaning that most cables can be connected to the PSU only when they are needed. Quite logical decision actually. One 1200W PSU can support two processor system (multiple core processors) with 2-3 video cards and 6-8 hard drives with no problems at all. An example for that is Intel's Skulltrail platform. At the same time that PSU could be used for powering high-class system with single videocard, one processor and one or two hard drives. In this situation though, the unused cables would just hang in there breaking the air flow in the computer case. Something every hardware enthusiast wants to prevent.
With the Raptoxx case though we must point out that too many cables are provided, in quantities that might never be needed actually. There are SATA, PCI-E and molex ones some of which you might never nee, thus dooming them to life of useless hanging around. A close inspection of the cables reveals that each of them has good connector, that plugs and unplugs easy, yet remains rock solid when plugged in. All cables are covered by sleeving and that is quite beneficial to the air flow in the case.
And again - enough with the words. Time for action, time for installing this baby, time for testing.
