The tests we ran were very extensive, we tried just about everything we could think of. Naturally, games did receive most attention, since the headphones are branded as gaming product.

Before any testing could be done though the headphones had to be put on. That was the first "problem" I ran at (or rather a slight discomfort), the headphones turned to be a tad large for me and were a tad lower than the position I would consider to be 100% comfortable. Still, it was not that bad and Razer Megalodon did not "push" my ears down (which could be painful in long therm) so the headphones were fitting quite fine. The first game the headphones were tested in was World of Warcraft.

Since I am active WoW player and therefore know how the game sounds on my current headphones and speakers, I was sure that this would be perfect base for comparison. The feel was very strange. As if I was hearing the sounds of the game for the very first time. Everything was crystal clear. Each sound, from steps, to battle was flawless. It was then and there I got my reassurance in the Razer product quality. The following test was in a game for which the headphones are intended (an useful), namely - CS:Source. I was already prepared for high level performance and naturally Razer delivered. The sound was clear and all kinds of noises (steps, gunfire) were quite well distinguishable.

The next game in the list was Unreal Tournament 3. The true potential of the headphones was revealed at last, since the game supports 7.1 channel sound the feel was truly amazing (the sound in CS:Source is 5.1 channel). That concluded the game testing and since Razer Megalodon passes with flying colors, I moved on to music testing. Despite the fact that was not what the headphones are particularly intended, what they reproduced was yet again - excellent. In moments like this a man comes to the realization that his cheap 25$ headphones are by no means great. Both low and high frequencies were perfect, the headphones passed this test with excellent marks. The only thin we must mention is that when listening to music or any other source stream that is not 5.1/7.1 channel, you must switch to 2 channel mode, otherwise you'll get some damp hum as if you're under water. The last thing left ro be tested was the sound in movies. Naturally a DVD movie with the proper amount of sound was chosen. That of course made me feel as if I'm in a real cinema. In moments like there a man is thankful for the existence of this great Razer product.
