To assess adequately DFI DK LP 790FXB-M2RSH all factors must be considered - namely what does it offer and what group of users id its main target. The DFI LanParty family had always been aimed at the high-class gaming systems, supplying full set of extras, functionality and huge overclock potential. And that is exactly what you'll get from the motherboard, center of this review.
The release of AMD Phenom II X4 gave a new life to the "good old" motherboards with AMD chipset. Obtaining AMD platform for gaming purposes is no longer unwise, quite contrary in fact. DFI DK LP 790FXB-M2RSH is the best motherboard for overclocking AM2+ processors that we ever had in the ModReactor lab. The tests showed it has slightly lower results than the Gigabyte motherboard with 790GX chipset, but the tweaking capabilities of this LanParty are much bigger. Undoubtedly this is our new favourite for AMD systems and with great joy we award DFI DK LP 790FXB-M2RSH with the very first Modreactor "Editor's choice" award. Of course the price of about 185$ might not appeal to just anybody ant there is also the issue with the nonexistent eSATA and FireWire (1394) connectivity - but then again... if these bother you not, then you'll not regret buying this motherboard for even a second.
