It's time to pay the attention of the box contents - Core-Contact Freezer. At first look it has impressive size. Its build is one of high level, plates are plentiful and closely positioned. Despite that a large section of the is in the "dead spot" of the fan blowing on it. Still, careful examination suggests low temperatures and care-free gaming hours.

The name "Core-Contact" actually means it does contacts with the core. That is because the heatpipes at the base of the cooler are filed flat and contact directly with the processor. For most common users that would seem big enough of a reason for better performance than rival products, but experienced users know that the capability of the copper usually used for base and the one of the actual heatpipes is very similar, thus the difference is quite subtle.

Mounting Sunbeam Core-Contact Freezer is easy and effortless. For LGA775 the cooler is held on a small plastic stand that imitates the one for AMD AM motherboards and plugs around the socket with four pins. The whole process is rather intuitive, but should you feel confused at some point there is a splendid manual to guide you. The weight of the radiator is not all that big, so no worries for your motherboard. The only big minus is its removing, which happens to be difficult one. In order to remove it you'll have to remove the motherboard too and the four pins have to be removed with the aid of pliers. Since in order to advance even a little you need to squeeze at least two pins and that exponentially increases the chance for you to slip and damage the motherboard with the pliers. Be very careful, consider this - 3-4 repetitions will make the procedure easier, but at the same time will reduce the stability.

With AMD AM motherboards things are way more simple, it installs as box cooler, or so we thought. If you have AM2+ motherboard, be warned - Core-Contact Freezer is unstable and unreliable, quite a minus we'll say.
