Yep. Now what exactly is wrong with this picture? Yes, one hole is missing. Fortunately right there the acrylic was thinned a lot so I had no trouble making it myself.

I made a test assembly and... WTF? The connector was supposed to be on one level with the top acrylic plate! Turn out instead of 5mm plates they sold me 4mm. Damn... since this is a limited working time project I can’t remake the plates, they will have to remain as they are.

With the dremel I cut 4 screws and then assembled and grinded everything.

Time for painting. ARGH!!! That what was supposed to be rusted red turned out to be more of a purple-red. Disgusting at it too. On top of that it cracked the acrylic and all that at a late stage of the ever so shorter work time available to me. I was FURIOUS! It took me whole 10 minutes to calm down enough to figure a way to mend things somehow. In the end new technologies in the Imperium are rare, so if the docking station looks a bit beaten-up it would fit perfectly. And I even remembered a thing I wanted to try with the pant. Chose black for base, if for no other reason - because I know very well how exactly does this particular black paint behaves with acrylic. And the technique I wanted to try out was a simple one – you paint on a base paint with different chemical composition, than your paint so it would get blistered (just as it would look as if there were rust beneath it). In this case it was enough to simply not clean too well the repulsive purple-red paint.

Then I poured hot glue on the dock and did the final assembly.
