In Win NA External HDD Enclosure Review

Page 2 - The box, the contents and the design

The box containing the enclosure is both utterly cardboardly plain and amazingly beautiful. The simple corrugated cardboard is beautified in quite pleasing manner and while its cover merely stimulates your curiosity, its bottom provides long enough to satisfy list of specifications and features.

Upon opening it we get reassured about the quality of protection it provides for the product it contains. Bags, bags, wraps and more. Inside are safely contained the power adapter, the USB and eSata cables, mounting elements, short multi-language user manual, nice sticker, the enclosure itself, porcelain plate and a note reminding us the warranty covers not damage to the porcelain plate.

Wait! Wuh? Porcelain plate?!? Oh, come now, we did say the design is interesting. The white colour chosen for the body is not very common (for it quickly becomes anything but white in the hands of a true geeks) yet is in perfect unison with the white LED indicating activity and the porcelain plate. Which, sadly, being not permanently attached kind of ruins the feel of perfection, for should you try to use the enclosure in any position different from horizontal the plate will slip and... bye-bye plate. Well, you can't have it all.

The center of the plate is crowned wit a stylish hieroglyph that according to In Win stands for „Na”. Do you know what is „Na”? That's the thing said by a splinter group of knights from the knights that say „Ni” :D And no shrubberies will appease them! :D

Nut being more serious, there's just no way not to mention that the form and design are with quite unique eastern touch, as well as that the first evident plus with it is that is as plain as the nose on your face – grab a whiteboard marker and write down notes directly on it. Both practical and fun. He-he.
