Ah! Oh! Cooler Master Real Power M1000 comes in a cardboard box! With a handle! White! With black sides and picture up front!

How about the Specifications and Features? Where are they at? On the sides and the back of course, hidden, but not completely:

And upon opening the box – even more packaging. No way! We want to see those heavy, expensive and shiny contents, but alas there is yet another obstruction on the way - a manual and leaflet telling us all about the 5 year warranty of the product!

And here it is - Cooler Master Real Power M1000. Pretty. Pretty! Shiny, shiny! And with many cables too, nicely tucked in their special bag:

Its body is very shiny and not all too black and its cooled by the large 135mm fan. Cooler Master made a strange choice as you can see, not only the cables for additional power for the CPu are two (one 4 pin and one 8 pin) but they are non-modular. Odd decision indeed, you'll always end up with one unused cable that needs hiding. There are labels on all of them too, for anyone unsure of where they should go. The labels though useful are sadly rather unappealing – it would be much better if the connectors themselves were labeled, like on other products. Well, you can always tear them of...

The power plug on the back bears a grim black and yellow sticker warning you about the dangers should you wall outlet isn't up to specifications. Surely this is placed there because of some poor fool that attempted something stupid:

The front side on the other hand does bear some loudly coloured and well marked connectors for the modular cables, ones that leave little to no room for "which cable goes where now? mistakes:

One thing we never liked – the specifications labels on the left sides of the PSUs, honestly, though informative they are rarely beautiful especially compared to the possibility of an illuminated purring 4-way Sli system below it. Still, there is something pleasing in the four digit number and the letter “W” behind it, especially considering the fact that the PSU is highly power efficient:

Here are some photos of the back grill, the fan and the mirror finish cover:

Here is one of the systems we tested the PSU with. And four they were – the present, the following with which we checked how the HAF case and PSU fit, the third that ran all the tests and a forth one that unfortunately we managed to fry during testing (but we'll talk about this later)

And the promised combo at last - HAF + Real Power. Nice ain't it? As you can see the cables are long enough to reach everywhere, even the most further spots. In fact they are long enough to be safely hidden behind the motherboard backplate – but hey, they should, after all these are products from the same manufacturer. Are they not? :)

Speaking of cables and lengths, its time for the boring charts :)
