Just like any other mice using USB connectivity, Razer Naga is truly plug-and-play, but for it being used to its full potential a driver pack is needed (available at the Razer website - www.razerzone.com). A quick system restart is all that is required after installing it in order to be able to utilize all the buttons. Then you get access to to the mouse control panel. As you can see on the pictures below there are three sections in the control panel: Adjust performance, Lighting and maintenance, Addons.
The first section allows us to change the mouse sensitivity (DPI), by steps of 100 in the range from 100 to 5600, we can also change the pooling rate, with settings here being 125,500 and 1000 Hz and even define different sensitivity to the both X and Y axis. The second section addresses the options of turning on/off the light of the scroll, the additional buttons and the company logo, as well as the options to update the software and reset to factory settings. The option for powering on/off the lights is quite interesting not just from aesthetic point of view, though unsubstantiated by hard evidence it is our believe that this in made for the benefit of laptop users, which are after all relying on a machine that depends on its battery.
Another interesting option is the one for using addons for World of Warcraft and Warhammer. The screenshots below show the World of Warcraft addon, a quite useful one indeed and if I'm not mistaken it can be used even if you don't have Naga. The addon itself is sort of barternder. Those of you familiar with the game probably know about the properties of such addons, and for those that don't - it simply allows changing the position of skill bars, bags and so on. overall the addon provides ample options, while it still NOT required for utilizing the full potential of the mouse, you can play without it , but I really recommend it.
As you can see the bars can be fully personalized (coloured in light blue they are only visible when the control panel for addon settings is open), you can move and arrange them in any way you see fit. Bu using the button with the green pointer you can switch between horizontal and vertical position for them. And that's about it for the software, so now lets get on with the tests.
