Page 3 - Choiix Travelpad

In previous articles we explained tha Choiix in fact is a brand of CoolerMaster, dealing mostly with periphery and accessories for mobile computers, targeted at both men and women.

We received from their new product, Travelpad. This in general lines is a mouse pad, which has some other cool features. It cam be used to clean your screen, as well to protect it – it is carried inside your notebook. Our pad was for 12 to 17” laptops, but we figured that it is a perfect fir for a 10”one.

Choiix Travelpad comes in a quite modes packaging, on the back of it written in several languages one only thing – this is a mouse pad. But on the whole the product does not need much more. Very good impression makes the fact that on the package there is a piece of the material, from which the pad is made and you can touch it to see whether you like the fabric and decide whether you like this product:

The fabric of the surface quite resembles leather, but in fact is anti static and anti-microbe synthetics. On touch the surface is soft. In the lower left corner sits the Choiix logo. As you can see the pad itself is quite thin:

The bottom side of the pad is made from sort rubber which sticks quite well to the surface and does not slip:

Here is how Travelpad scales with 14” and 10” laptop. Its small thickness leaves it unnoticeable when you close the laptop lid:

lIt is time for some testing. As you can clearly see, the surface is not very large, but in field conditions it does its job. The larger problem is with the soft surface – the resistance when moving the mouse is quite significant so do not expect much here. The good thing is that Travelpad truly can wipe your screen clean, can be washed easy and the precision it offers for optical and laser sensors is quite good:

The Verdict

Choiix Travelpad is not the best mouse surface you can buy, but definitely has quite a few applications, and besides that it is very suitable for laptops in field conditions. If you travel a lot and do now like to carry much luggage, but like the comfort of a mouse in your hand we definitely advise to get one of thesepads. The problems are on the whole 2 – the size, which clearly is such for a reason, and the problematic movement of the mouse on its surface. As an added bonus we can state the fact that Travelpad is quite suitable for 10” netbooks also.
