Incredible, but there it is – Port Backpack IS a laptop backpack! Again with the 15,4” version and the well known light and dark blue colour, garnished with a pinch of gray. The tribal embodiment is yet again in the front, along with the Port logo, that received treatment in the same style. I would sure like to see the green-brown style on this product, I believe it would look more "fresh" :
Considering that Port Backpack is a backpack, I can boldly say: the shoulder-straps are well shaped and comfortable, the handle on the top is very well conceived in order to use less material, yet unfortunately the back is repugnant. No breathing materials, no thick padding, it is rather thin (apparently it is considered that there will always be a laptop in it, and it being firm will reinforce your back). This however doesn't make the backpack uncomfortable, but should you carry something more than a laptop or outside in hot weather - the comfort is almost nonexistent. As for pockets, there are two (one on each side) and a bigger one in the front. Not much of a space, still enough. The front pocket has all the required compartments for pens, small items, keys and documents. Again all the zippers are inverted:
On the inside the situation is as expected – thick walls of the laptop compartment, enough space around it, laminated synthetic cloth - the works. And further still, even with the laptop in place there is quite some room for additional luggage:
And now a personal remark about the design of Port Backpack – it's fairly ugly. Then again I've rarely seen nice laptop backpacks. But still – lots of other Port Designs are nicely designed, it wouldn't hurt to do something about the backpack too. It also would be nice if they do something about the comfortability, that is a tad lacking with this back – after all a backpack is not merely a bag with two shoulderstraps.
