Akasa Nero AK-967 is sold in large, well protected black case. One that naturally, bears pictures of the cooler and all of its specifications. Just as in any other company product, we have here information in 5 different languages, and more than we're used to even :
The first thing we notice when opening the box is how well is the product packed and protected. Inside we also find a short manual, fan (not attached to the main body) and the cooler itself:
Now lets look at the radiator. The shape that Akasa engineers had chosen is clearly visible. And somewhat different it is from anything we've seen before, though not radically different. The top fin has a Nero written on it. You can also see the three U-shaped heatpipes:
The base is well polished, but it looks like there are gaps between the heatpipes and the aluminum base. Interesting, would that affect the performance?
Now to attach the fan. You probably already noticed the well known Akasa rubber mounts. The fan too looks quite familiar - and indeed it is just a shiny black version of the one Akasa fan revived earlier by us. As you might remember these were some rather quiet fans with stable airflow.
Naturally all necessary mounting elements for the supported sockets are provided
Here are some photos of the test system. They give you a pretty good idea of how large exactly is the cooler:
