Pros
- Direct touch heatpipes
- Light weight
- Quiet 120 mm fan
- High performance
- 4 big 8mm U-shaped heatpipes
- Easy to install
Cons
- No spare studs for the fan
- Adequate price, just a tad higher for our liking (~55$)
- Not the best performing in its class
- High, might not fit in some cases
Xigmatek HDT S1284 is a fine representative of the direct touch heatpipe coolers, despite not being the best performing one. As a price it's rather adequate considering that Xigmatek are well established name and do tend to keep higher prices compared to no-name Chinese competition. In our tests we saw that its direct rival in the face of Contact-Freezer performs a tad better, but Xigmatek HDT S1284 makes up for that by simply being available in Bulgaria.
