Assembly

Time to assemble a system inside the case. Nothing special to do, standard setup. The big amount of toolles screws is very handy indeed:

As you can see the case is roomy inside, but still has major two issues. First, there isn't all that much room around the top of the motherboard and more bulky cooler might not fit. Second, there isn't much open space in front of the video card and as you know top models from the 2хх series of NVidia are quite long. Using one such card automatically negates use of two 3.25” device slots. Unfortunately we had no such card at hand to check how much exactly space will it occupy.

ere ate two more photos of the free space in which you could hide the cables:

And here is how the fully assembled Antec Three Hundred looks like:

Test system

  • Processor: Intel C2D Е4500 @ 3.3 GHz
  • Memory: Apacer 2x2GB DDR2 800 MHz
  • Motherboard: ASUS P5K-E WiFi
  • Video card: ATI Radeon HD 4770
  • Hard drive: Maxtor 250GB; Seagate 640GB
  • PSU: Fortron 350W (with "slight" visual mods)

We executed two groups of two tests: in Idle mode and under full load of the CPU and Gpu. Both groups of tests were concluded INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the case.

Testing in IDLE mode, was done by leaving the machine at Windows desktop for about 10 minutes with no other programs running. For tests under load we gathered results from RealTemp 2.70 (the most adequate program for obtaining temperatures of 45nm Intel processor for now), after 30 minutes of running OCCT 2.0. Results you see are degrees centigrade ABOVE ROOM TEMPERATURE, this way the eliminating the influence of ambient conditions and get better results. This way assuming the room temperature to be 20 degrees and the table shows value of 15 degrees, that means the actual temperature was 35 degrees.
